You know listening to talk radio reminded me just how in the tank the republicans are for big business. Lars Larson went on and on about some woman who was on food stamps and rode a bus to Winco for 2hours so she could get decent food prices. He used it as an opportunity to say, "if the city allowed Wal Mart to build in her neighborhood, she could just walk five mins and go there."
Ya...come to find out there were about 4 different grocery stores within 15-20 min walk of her house.
Wal-Mart is the ONLY retail establishment that is profiting while all others are in the crapper. Profits increased 10% last quarter....hocking their chinese wares....great :-/
You know anyone reading this.....let's make this whole over consumption, over production consumeristic, materialistic monster fall!!
Don't buy Wal Mart.

It doesn't surprise me in the least. It is the rare politician indeed you cares about, country or community. One of the things that shocked me that we learned in the documentary was how they force employees to work overtime with no pay. That regardless of the fact that there have been countless rapes in their parking lots, no one mans the cameras.Those are there to be reviewed if they suspect workers of trying to form a union! Oversees it gets worse. In China the workers get $3 a day to work in horrid conditions then they have to live in horrible Walmart housing because rent is deducted from their tiny paycheck whether they live there or not. That $14.98 piece of plastic crap cost Walmart 12 cents to make, but they can't pass that one to their workers here or abroad. Anyway, best leave off, I'll take up the whole space other wise. Boycott Walmart!
We absolutely refuse to shop at Walmart. All my friends do, I continually tell them about Walmart and its "business practices" read slave holding practices. They tell me it allows them to afford more for their Folk--of course the OR doesn't see any of that saved money... Just another excuse.

Walmart is SCARY. They're on the list of things that freak me out about monocultured communities. Seriously, every time I go on a road trip, its like Groundhog Day everywhere the truck stops. No one is different anymore. :(
You know what I hate too are Dollar stores. I can't believe people actually buy stuff there that they ingest.. like toothpaste, aspirin, soaps, etc. It has been proven that they get their stuff from overstock from other countries, from South America or China. Their content has in no way been regulated by the FDA or any other kind of agency. Now I am not a huge fan of the FDA but I think it is necessary to have some kind of regulation when it comes to medicines and such. I mean look at the cases of formula in China that have poisoned thousands of babies -- do you really want to be buying products from places like that just to save a few pennies? EW!!
